Get Disney Prepared

Disney World Page

Planning a Disney Vacation can be a daunting task.  When I booked my first family vacation to Walt Disney World Resorts in Orlando, Florida, I had no idea the research involved.  However, being an úber planner, I had no trouble finding some great resources.  The following is a list of all my favorite Disney planning and prepping tools (including some shopping!).  While I am an affiliate for some, not all, of these resources, I have either used these in the past or currently use them and can recommend them without reservation.

Accommodations and Tickets

We have personally used David’s DVC Rentals twice and have been extremely pleased with the results.  We stayed in Disney’s Beach Club Resort for nearly 50% off the published Disney rate. Read our 5 Ways To Stay On Disney Property and Not Go Broke to learn more.

We utilized Undercover tourist for our tickets on our very first WDW vacation in 2015 and again in 2016 to book reservations with Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach Resort. Both resort rates were less than we the Annual Pass Discount.  They are efficient, helpful, and professional.

Tripadvisor, of course, is not unknown to you.  I list it here because I do use it in planning Disney vacations for several things.  Price comparison, of course, but also the forums are very helpful.  Chances are, if you have a question about a Disney Vacation, someone else has already asked it.

Before You

I am over the moon excited to be able to tell you all about Disney Food Blog’s products!  Their podcast was one that I devoured when I was planning my Disney vacations.  Their DFB Snack and Food guides are an excellent resource!  I even took screen shots of all my favorite pages and kept them on my phone so I wouldn’t forget which ones to try! Click here to check them out

Go straight to the source!  Shop Disney has a complete line of Disney parks merchandise.  Be sure to sign up for their emails to be notified of sales and after holiday discounts.  Buying a few special plush toys to surprise you kiddos BEFORE you go to the parks, can be a huge savings over the in park and resort pricing.

Make your own personalized Family T-shirts, Disney buttons, mugs, and other merchandise at Zazzle.com OR purchase some of their already made Disney licensed products to make your vacation special.

DisneyStore.com  is a great source to get your Disney Gift cards.  Also, for additional savings if you have access to Sam’s Club, they can be purchased for slightly less than their face value.

Purchasing Disney Park Pins BEFORE heading to the parks can save you a lot of money.  I was able to purchase lots of 50 Pins for Pin Trading at a lot less than the park prices. This gave the kids plenty of extra pins for trading while in the parks.

Amazon is a great source to pick up your Disney autograph books,, pens, and other resources. These will be much more expensive at your resort so get them ahead of time. They make great stocking stuffers or Pixie dust gifts for the room when you arrive.

We are so excited to get to partner with Magic Your Band!  We used them after booking with David’s DVC Rental and were very pleased with the results.  I even personalized my band to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary while in the parks. If you want to show your personality on your Magic Band, check them out!

Now, my real geeky Disney side is revealed!  We love getting Disney Theme music or soundtracks for the car!  This one has all the Disney songs you will hear in the parks because we know you can’t wait to get, “It’s a Small World” in your head!

Some people use Amazon NOW after they arrive, but we haven’t been able to yet.  Using Prime Pantry to ship groceries ahead of time was always helpful.

These are a few of our

Despite doing most of my research is online, sometimes it’s nice to have a book in your hand.  If you are a geek like me, there are times you just want to get a little more.  The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World is always a great resource to have on hand.

Do you love to find hidden Mickey’s as much as we do?  This guide was a great stocking stuffer for my oldest son the year we had our Annual Passes.  We also downloaded the Hidden Mickey app on our phone so we had a pass time while waiting in line at the parks.

If you really want to geek out on Disney, check out this Disney Facts Revealed book.  Filled with answers not found online to your most curious questions about all things Disney, it’s a great resource if you are a die hard Disney nerd like we are.
