Why Stay In Pigeon Forge, TN?
The star attraction of the Smokies, Dollywood, has put Pigeon Forge on the map over the years. I bet you thought it was the Great Smoky Mountains National Park…but I’d say Dolly gives the national park a run for its money in terms of visitor draw.
Add to that the numerous family attractions, restaurants, and the brand new Island Pigeon Forge and your family can enjoy a week worth of fun without ever setting foot in the national park.
Now, I am not advocating for that by any means, but the fact is that Pigeon Forge has become quite the attraction in and of itself.
Home 2 Suites Family Rooms
Because we were traveling with my in-laws on this trip, I chose Home2 Suites for its larger rooms and bedding for larger families. If you are searching for larger hotel rooms in Pigeon Forge, Home 2 Suites will definitely meet your needs.
This hotel is perfect if you need more than two beds. I was impressed with the room size as well as the amenities.
Large Family Suites With Kitchens
For a very reasonable rate, we booked a room with a kitchen area, full-sized refrigerator, and freezer, as well as a dishwasher and plenty of dishes and utensils. There was no stove, but there was a microwave.
As I am sure you know, eating out can get expensive so it is nice to find hotels with kitchens in Pigeon Forge even if you only use it to store your leftovers.
We chose a double bedroom with a pull-out sofa allowing for 6 people to sleep in a room. The beds were very comfortable and everyone woke up refreshed.
Breakfast Is Included at Home2 Suites Pigeon Forge
While we are on the subject of saving money and finding convenience in your hotel in Pigeon Forge, we have to mention the benefit of having onsite breakfast included.
This is always a great option for our family of five. Our family has multiple food allergies, so this option isn’t always beneficial to us which is why having the kitchen is a great perk.
However, in this case I was pleased to discover that, they serve a pancake mix that is safe for my children’s food allergies. We save money and time eating in the hotel, and I always appreciate when it’s available.
Home 2 Suites Facilities and Grounds
After breakfast, take your coffee and a stroll outside where you will find a great courtyard overlooking the new Island Shopping Center and the beautiful surrounding Smoky Mountains.
There is a fire pit surrounded by plenty of comfortable seating. This makes a perfect place to savor your coffee.
I certainly took advantage of this leisurely morning and after enjoying my coffee and letting my boys play a bit, we toured the rest of the hotel.
The boys were disappointed because we didn’t have time to enjoy the outdoor swimming area. I admit, I was a tad disappointed myself. It’s basically a mini water park! There is also a heated indoor pool.
On the back side of the hotel near the pool area there are two large gas grills surrounded by tables and chairs for nice evening grilling.
Home2 Suites Hotel Service
The front desk staff, housekeeping staff, and kitchen staff were all helpful and friendly. My children have food allergies and I often have to speak to the kitchen staff regarding their allergies.
Sometimes this doesn’t go very well, but in this case the staff gladly brought out the label to the pancake mix for me to read. This is always my preferred method of confirming the safety of the food for my children.
It’s surprising how flippant some people can be with regard to this concern and it ALWAYS ALWAYS influences my opinion. I am happy to say that in this location, I was cheerfully served and my kids were able to enjoy their breakfast.

The grilling space is great! I love a full kitchen in the hotel room (so great for saving money while traveling), but I've never seen a grill space. That is such a great idea!
