Education programs are offered throughout the year, and self-guided activities like scavenger hunts can be downloaded online.

The park has over 1,200 acres of wilderness, including a 1.5-mile pristine beach. Two campgrounds offer the choice between oceanfront or forest sites, either of which offers easy access to miles of hiking trails.

The on-site Environmental Learning Center features interactive exhibits about the local flora, fauna, and sea life. You can also join an ecotour from the beach.  If you are looking for seashells, you’ll find tongs of them here each morning.

 You have Folly’s Island and Folly’s Beach 15 minutes away for the beach vibes, and historic downtown Charleston is also 15 minutes away. You have the best of both worlds and an affordable campsite to call home each night. Each site includes a picnic table and a fire ring.
