San Francisco is a fascinating city to visit. Unfortunately, our road trip was so full with so much to see and do, we only had about twenty four hours there. In California Road Trippin: San Francisco Day 1, I shared our adventures on our first day in this grand city. We did all the usual tourist things on the Fisherman’s Wharf. It was breezy and cold during our visit, but the sun was shining and we enjoyed our short time there.

In this post, I take you on a photo tour that will make you want to drive the Pacific Coast Hwy despite the 2017 Big Sur landslides. I discuss how Big Sur landslides in 2017 have changed the landscape of the Pacific Coast Hwy. Without Big Sur is it worth it? After my May 2017 California Road Trip, I say resoundingly YES! Find out why.
When researching best restaurants in San Luis Obispo, Novo Restaurant & Lounge will likely come up in the top of any search result. Due to land slides in Big Sur, we had to change our itinerary a bit from our initial plans. Knowing this, I really wanted to be sure our dinner included a stop in San Luis Obispo to give this downtown SLO restaurant a try. Thankfully, we successfully made it to SLO by dinner and enjoyed a fabulous and relaxing meal at Novo Restaurant & Lounge.
When your three year old is still on east coast time, he gets up at 5:15 am in Monterey, California. Sneaking out so as not to wake the rest of the family, we walked out into the brisk cool morning, crossed the street from our hotel onto a very nice jogging and bike walkway, and were greeted with this stunningsunrise! This is quite a sunrise for my very first west coast sunrise! WOW!
