White water rafting in Pigeon Forge and the Smokies is one of the most exhilarating activities in March. The rafting season on the Pigeon River opens early March presenting varying water levels this time of the year.
Visitors can ride the rapids on two sections of the river, the upper Pigeon River features exciting Class-III and 3 Class-IV rapids that are perfect for adventure seekers while the lower part offers smoother and calmer rafting trips with calm and modest rapids.
Pigeon Forge rafting does not require any special skill and even kids as young as 3 y/o can participate.
Starting mid-March through late November, visitors can take guided horseback riding in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Depending on the trail that you will take, horseback riding can last from 45 minutes up to several hours.
