Be sure not to miss the Kettlefoot Fire Lookout Tower.   Registered by the National Park Service on the national register of historic places, the view from the fire tower is well worth the climb.  According to their Facebook page,

The historic Kettlefoot Fire Lookout Tower is located at 3,889 feet ASL on the top of Doe Mountain and is part of the Doe Mountain Recreation Area. The tower is 60 feet high and was built in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The tower is an Aermotor MC-39, observation-only model and is based off a windmill design. It was retired from service with the Tennessee Division of Forestry in the 1970s.”

Suba’s: 10 minutes from Doe Mountain Recreation Area

Owned and operated by two professionally trained chefs, LuAnne and Rich Suba, Suba’s is definitely not to be missed.
