How Many Coasters Are at Dollywood?

Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is home to a wide variety of attractions, including nine thrilling roller coasters.

These coasters range from gentle family-friendly rides to intense thrill machines that will keep even the bravest of riders on the edge of their seats.

Blazing Fury

Location: Craftsman’s Valley

Height Requirements: Min: 42 in. No Max

The Blazing Fury Coaster at Dollywood is an indoor roller coaster that takes riders on a wild ride as they attempt to outrun an advancing inferno.

This pulse-pounding experience takes place in the 1880s, and patrons are immediately immersed into a world of chaos as a fire ravages the town.


Location: Wildwood Grove

Height Requirements: Min: 39 in. Max: 81 in.

This one-of-a-kind steel roller coaster takes you on an exhilarating ride that mimics the flight of a Smoky Mountain dragonfly, taking you through twists and turns across the terrain.

With its thrilling aerial maneuvers, there is no better way to experience the excitement of flying like a dragonfly in Wildwood Grove!

To ensure customer safety, Dragonflier may be closed during hazardous weather conditions such as snow and extreme temperatures, lightning, high winds or other natural disasters.

FireChaser Express 

Location: Wilderness Pass

FireChaser Express Coaster at Dollywood is an exciting ride that offers a thrilling experience for the entire family. This first-of-its-kind dual-launch coaster propels riders forward and backward, through a series of twists, turns, and drops.

Get ready to feel the rush of thrill that FireChaser Express brings! From its incredible launch off the terminal and addition of pyrotechnics, to its dramatic conclusion as it races backward back to where it all began – you’ll definitely have your heart racing.

Lightning Rod

Location: Jukebox Junction

Height Requirements:  Min: 48 in. Max: No Max

Experience the rush of excitement that comes with a thrilling ride at Dollywood’s Lightning Rod coaster. This unique and highly-acclaimed attraction is like no other, featuring a 1950s hot rod theme that will get your heart racing.

The coaster begins by launching riders from zero to 45 mph, more than 20 stories up its lift hill. Then you’ll climb twin summit airtime hills before heading down the 165-foot drop and reaching a thrilling top speed of 73 mph.

Get ready for 3,800 feet of pure adrenaline as you race through numerous twists, turns and unexpected thrills!

Mystery Mine

Location: Timber Canyon

This 1,811-foot track takes you through an abandoned coal mine that is ripe with mystery and adventure. As you begin the journey, the coaster takes you through overbanked turns, unexpected drops, and tight curves.

The ride culminates in an intense 95-degree, 85-foot vertical drop that plunges into darkness! Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience – buckle up and get ready for a wild ride!

Tennessee Tornado

Location: Craftsman’s Valley

Height Requirements:  Min: 48 in. Max: No Max

This triple spiral-looping coaster makes riders feel like they have been taken inside of a tornado as they soar down the 128-foot drop at speeds up to 70 mph.

The ride is less than two minutes long, but that doesn’t stop it from giving riders a rush of adrenaline.

As if the 128-foot drop isn’t enough excitement, riders will also experience two 110 foot loops and be sent shooting through a tunnel inside the mountain.

Thunderhead Coaster in Dollywood is an iconic and thrilling wooden roller coaster that provides an exhilarating experience for both new and seasoned riders.

Situated between two mountains, the coaster stands tall among the mighty trees around it, utilizing the rugged terrain to create a daring ride full of heart-pounding twists and turns.

The entire track crosses over and under itself 32 times, featuring an impressive 100-foot drop and a top speed of 55 mph. One of the unique features of this ride is its flythrough station – something not many roller coasters can boast!

Wild Eagle

Location: Wilderness Pass

Height Requirements: Min: 50 in. Max: 78 inches

Wild Eagle Coaster at Dollywood is a one-of-a-kind roller coaster experience. It’s the first wing coaster in the United States and towers 21 stories above the park, giving riders a unique view of the Smoky Mountains while they soar above them.

This coaster has an innovative design that sets it apart from other roller coasters. Instead of being on the track, riders are seated on either side of the coaster train so there’s nothing but air between them and the ground!

Big Bear Mountain: New in 2023

Location: Wildwood Grove

Dollywood’s Wildwood Grove is about to get even bigger and better with the addition of Big Bear Mountain Coaster in 2023. W

ith 3,990 feet of track, this incredible coaster will take riders on a thrilling two-minute journey that is sure to be an unforgettable experience for all ages.

Big Bear Mountain Coaster also features onboard audio, including music and announcements from Ned Oakley himself.

Whistle Punk Chaser

Location: Timber Canyon

Height Requirements: Min: 36 in. Max: No Max

*Under 42 in. must be accompanied by someone 16 or older.

Adjacent to the thrilling Thunderhead rollercoaster, Whistle Punk Chaser is designed to be an ideal entry point for children into bigger attractions.

But what really sets this ride apart is that it’s not just a simple kids’ coaster; it has been carefully crafted with ample room for parents, grandparents and spectators alike!

With its thoughtfully constructed layout, I can guarantee you’ll enjoy your visit at Whistle Punk Chaser as much as your little ones do.

  • As the Spring and Fall months roll around, bees and wasps tend to increase their activities, thus congregating around tall attractions. Even though these insects are a part of our ecosystem during this season, Dollywood encourages all Guests to use caution when deciding whether or not they wish to ride at this attraction as it is most active with flying insects in the warmest parts of the day.
